1918 Sep 26 MC Gazetted "2nd Lt. Edgar Ernest Stubbs, E. Lanc. R. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He led fighting patrols four nights in succession, and under machine-gun and rifle fire obtained valuable information of how enemy posts were held and their location. In the raid following he got to his objective, entered a trench in rear, and attacked a post, personally killing four of the enemy, and with his party bringing back prisoners. He displayed fine courage and leadership, and obtained an identification which was urgently required

1920 Jul 13. Lt. E. E. Stubbs, M.C., resigns his commission, 13th July 1920, and retains the rank of Lt. 5th East Lancs Regt

 

1921 Apr 1. Relinquishes commission on ceasing to be employed

1939 Register A single Commercial Traveller living at 183 Ladykirk Road , Newcastle-upon-Tyne C.B., Northumberland, He seems to be living with Lilian G Brown, a widow of the same age
