Compensation Commission Register shows that British liability was accepted, and that £2,000 was awarded. (CO 905/15, TNA).
1921 Oct . The Irish Revolution has that The IRA raided the family home. In the view of the RIC, this was done in order to intimidate Edward Johnston’s widow into leaving the area; she and her four daughters moved to Bandon.
