It is believed from a taped interview quoted in Coleman - Longford and the Irish Revolution, that the IRA had found evidence of Leacock sending information to the British, when the IRA made a number of raids on the mails.One can see from the British inquiry that the men who picked Leacock up were interested in his handwriting.
