1891 census in Kinson, Dorset with grandparents. His mother is living as a servant in Poole.

1900 Dec 13. Attested to East Surrey Militia. He was living at 162 Euston Rd, London at that time and working for a Mr Cobb as a clerk

1901 Jan 25 attests to Yorks Regt, claiming born 1882 Kinson, Poole, a clerk and serving in 3rd East Surrey Militia. He is discharged 3 weeks later for "mistatement of age". He gives his parents as Charles and Kate Sherwood of 162 Euston Rd London. The appearance is one of having run away from home

1911 Oct/Dec. Probably married Richmond, Yorkshire to either CLARKSON, Syndonia M or WALTON, Mabel T

1918 Nov 19. 2nd Lt to be Lt F.C.Sherwood, Yorks Regt

1920 Aug 8. The undermentioned temp, appts. are made: Spec. Appts., Cl. GG.—Lt. F. C. Sherwood, York. R., whilst empld. as a Brig. Intelligence Officer.

 

1921 Apr 16. MBE gazetted Lt. Frederick Charles Sherwood, Green Howards in recognition of gallant conduct in the performance, of military duties:

1922 Feb 10. The undermentioned relinquish their temp, appts.: Spec. Appts. Cl. GG.—Lt. F. C. Sherwood, M..B.E., Green. Howards.

1922 Nov 29. Green Howards.—Lt. F. C. Sherwood, M.B.E., retires on account of ill-health contracted on active service, receiving a gratuity.
