IRA Witness Statement A short time afterwards I came to Ballygarron, Spa, to the house of a man named Rail. There I was informed that a woman named Mrs.Walpole was found that morning shot dead on the side of the road with a label on her chest which read shot as a spy'. I knew this could not be correct as I had stayed at her house several times since I first went on the run. I investigated the matter and discovered that the shooting was the result of a family row.
